A failure to respond to 27 of 29 consumer complaints has earned
All Tec Services an "F" rating with Better Business Bureau serving Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington.
Also going by names like Mr. TV and Alltec, the South Sound-area electronics repair shop captured BBB's attention with its high volume of unanswered product and service complaints.
Complainants allege that actual repair times far exceed estimates and items are kept for extended periods. Some customers tell BBB that the business also neglected to inform them of delays or respond to inquiries.
Avoid episodes when repairing electronics and other home appliances, BBB serving Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington recommends consumers:
- Get referrals. To find reliable companies, take the advice of friends, family members and colleagues. Utilize BBB Business Reviews available free at bbb.org.
- Put it in writing. Keep documentation to help protect valuables in case the transaction goes awry. Make sure the written price quote includes parts and labor charges, the expected completion date and any verbal agreements.
- Pay post-repair. Avoid paying full cost in advance. After the repair is complete, use a credit card, not cash; tracking and disputing charges is easier with credit cards.
