Better Business Bureau is encouraging Clatsop County residents to shred unwanted documents, recycle old cell phones and voluntarily donate canned food at a free event this weekend.

BBB's Secure Your ID Day is Saturday, June 30, 2012, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Pacific Alarm Systems at 3577 Highway 101 North in Gearhart.

Unwanted paperwork will be securely shredded on-the-spot by Shred-it; bring up to three bags or boxes. Old cell phones will be allocated to Verizon’s HopeLine. Canned foods will benefit CCA Regional Food Bank; donations are optional.
