As Better Business Bureaus from across the U.S. and Canada came together for the 2011 International Assembly in Seattle on Oct. 4, 2011, Robert W.G. Andrew, CEO of BBB serving Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington, was recognized with the prestigious BOC Meritorious Service Award.

The BOC Meritorious Service Award is given to those who have "contributed above and beyond to the good of the BBB system." Awards are allotted by the Council of Better Business Bureaus' Operations Committee, which oversees the activities of all BBBs.

"It was a complete shock. I feel honored to receive this award," stated Andrew, following his acceptance.

One of two 2011 honorees, Andrew is a 30-year leader and CEO of BBB. During his career, he is credited with merging BBB's local offices—making BBB serving Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington the second largest BBB by territory.
